Secrets of Success in Ministry 

Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear,so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God,and this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God’s house. And of all that you give me I will give a full tenth to you.” – Genesis 28:20-22

1. Putting God first in all you do like Jacob. Prioritizing the place of Christ in your heart and life.

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you

 2. Be part of the building of the house of God. Commit yourself to make sure the local church where you are stands. Raise or be part of an ongoing altar that worship God.

Psalms 132:

1 O LORD, remember on behalf of David all the hardships he endured,

2 how he swore an oath to the LORD, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

3 “I will not enter my house or get into my bed,

4 I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,

5 until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.

3. Commit yourself into giving towards the Kingdom.  Honor God with your wealth.  Be faithful in your tithing and offering. Jacob swore to be faithful to God in his tithing. Tithing is part of worship that reminds God of your commitment to Him and His Kingdom.  It is also part of the covenant of faithfulness you enter with God as your provider.

Proverbs 3: 

9 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your harvest;

10 then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.

4. Be diligent and consistent in what you do for God. As servants of God we are called to preach in season and out of season. We don’t preach because it feels good but because it is a call deep within our bones. We preach because we love Him, who has called us to his good works. We are called to make sure the house of God is opened even if we can’t make it to Church.  There many occasions we preach when we ourselves need divine intervention.  We don’t allow our shortcomings to hinder our Big God. Trusting God that He who calls us is faithful and will keep you.

Proverbs 22:29

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

 5. Know your inheritance in Christ. When you know your inheritance in Christ you will stop looking for men for help but God. I desire for all of us to grow strong in faith and not to depend on any man. Whatever man can give you is temporal but what God can give you is permanent. Jacob worked for his uncle Laban for many years but didn’t see much benefits . He went to God to seek his inheritance.  The revelation God gave him was just a change of name. There are some of us we have Apostolic Mantles,  we have grace to conquer nations, grace to plant churches all over the land,  grace to do great things of God, grace for nations, grace for villages , grace for cities but we are looking into men instead of God. When you know your inheritance in Christ,  your seed will be fruitful,  multiply and fill the earth.

Colossians 3: 23

Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men, 24 because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

6. Exercise your gift and put it into use. Explore to know your calling as an individual.  What gifts has God given you? What do you think you can do better? What do people speak around you when you talk or give idea. There are many people seating under great potential for not exploring their gifts. It is your duty to explore your gift. Don’t ignore that gift God has given you, it will be the one that will open your doors. Your gift will make room for you. Don’t fight with men when you have allowed your gift to be dormant.  Whether it is prayer, pray, speaking in tongues , speak, leading , lead, worship,  lead worship, evangelism,  evangelize, Pastor,  start pastoring a group of people, playing instruments,  play e.t.c. in the verge of applying your gift, God will add perfection to the  gift. Gift is something you  grow in it. The more you use it , the better it becomes , the less you use it  becomes dull!

Proverbs 18:16

A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

7. Seek for mentorship and discipleship.  Learn from people who have gone ahead of you. Life is a lesson and it is better learnt from others. Don’t wait for your costly mistakes in ministry in order to learn.  Learn from other people’s mistakes and progress.  Honor men of God who have something you admire or want to be. Respect graces at work in different men of God. Have a role model of the world you aspire to live in. Challenge your faith for something better than what you currently have. When the blind leads the blind, the Bible says both will fall into a ditch. Learn to interact not only with people in your average but also above you . People who can challenge you to become a better you, people who can inspire you to grow in your faith.

Proverbs 13: 20

He who walks with the wise will become wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Protecting the Altar

The reason why God judged Eli is not because he didn’t rebuke his sons but because he allowed them to continue in their service in the house of God.

As a High Priest in the House of God , he had the full privilege to appoint and also demote. If his sons were doing wrong, the right thing he could have done is to put them on the bench to learn like any other .

The same honor you give to God is what He will give you, the same respect you give Him is what He will give you, if you fail to honor the altar of God , because of pity or because the person is your relative or your wife but you know very well they are doing things not pleasing to God, the Lord will judge you.

It reaches a time as a servant and even as a Pastor in the congregation, you are called not only to defend but to protect the Altar of God at all cost.

If there are members in the praise and worship but they insist on serving God with their short miniskirts and tight trousers among men and women , put them on the bench , so that they may learn. It doesn’t matter how gifted they are , the Lord will raise Samuel’s to take their place .

The Lord will raise Samuel’s who have no idea of power and leadership, the Lord will raise Samuel’s who their future seems deem and have no hope to church leadership. They are just there tendering the Lamp in the house of God
. All they do is to tender the lamb and keep the presence of God in the church. They don’t pay attention to the corruption among the sons of Eli, they don’t pay attention to the defilement in the house of God, they don’t pay attention to gossip circulating in the church.
They spend their time in humility, probably putting one garment the whole year because that is what they can afford but in their hearts, they reverence God and keep his Fire burning .

It doesn’t matter if that person is the only keyboard player in the church, if he/she fails to reverence God, put them on the bench that they may find repentance , keeping them in service will exult their hearts in pride and bring shame to the name of the Living God.

1 Samuel 2:30-32 Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me forever,’ but now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Behold, the days are coming when I will cut off your strength and the strength of your father’s house, so that there will not be an old man in your house. Then in distress you will look with envious eye on all the prosperity that shall be bestowed on Israel, and there shall not be an old man in your house forever.

Spending Time in His Presence

Matthew 14:23 And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,

Praise and glory be to the Mighty God of heaven and earth . If you want to gain faith and your faith to grow , you must learn to spend time in the presence of God . There is moments that you have to separate yourself from the crowd to that quiet moment with the Lord and the Lord alone . There is the crowd that their purpose is to drain what you already have , there is a crowd of people who will discourage you in your attempt to fulfill the will of God but when you spend time with God , what seems impossible will be possible .

Many a times we cannot understand people of faith because we are not familiar with their lifestyles. There is something that happens in you every moment you enter into the presence of God. There is always a new impactation, new spiritual gifts , fresh anointing , new grace , new strength to overcome evil and fresh power.

When Jesus came out of the mountain after separating Himself from the crowd and the disciples , He came with a new grace the disciples had never seen before . The grace in His life to walk on water . The disciples were not able to understand , they thought He was a ghost . I challenge you today to spend more time with God and less time with men . Don’t spend time arguing with men/women who may not be able to understand your faith , spend time with God who is able to materialize your faith you have in Him.

Matthew 14:25-26 And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear.

False teaching behind the spirit of Elijah

There is a church that have been waiting for the spirit of Elijah to save them but why the spirit of Elijah when Christ has left us His Spirit? The spirit of Elijah is man but the Spirit of Christ is God. The Voice speaking at this hour is not the spirit of any Man but the Spirit of Christ that dwells in the hearts of those who believe the Gospel.

If you are in a church where the emphasis is the spirit of Elijah rather than the Spirit of Christ, then know for sure you are lost !!!

Christ did not come to build empires of men but He came that we may have a relationship with God . Yes personal relationship with God where Him himself dwells in our hearts through His Eternal Spirit by faith.

If you are waiting for a spirit of man to save you, you are in a hot trouble . No spirit of man will take you to heaven but they Spirit of Christ if you walk with Him.

Only the Spirit of Christ can lead you to all truth , only the Spirit of Christ will exult Christ.

The spirit of Elijah will exult man which dies today and decay tomorrow but the Spirit of Christ is Eternal .

If you are busy preaching about the spirit of Elijah , you are preaching a false Gospel and derailing the children of God from the Holy Gospel .

We don’t need a spirit of Elijah at this Hour we need the Spirit of Christ Himself to Make it into the Kingdom of God .

Salvation is no longer a group thing, or nation thing, Salvation now is how you have walked with Jesus until the day you will meet Him on the judgment seat.
